Let It Go by Na’ima b Robert and Mufti Menk
‘Let it Go’ is a lovely and unique book that introduces an important character trait we all are encouraged to adopt – forgiveness! It’s a book of hope for young minds in knowing life isn’t perfect and we and others will make mistakes and that’s ok because we will ask Allah for help and ask for forgiveness. The highlights feelings and emotions young children (and adults) feel when they are upset and it’s a great way of discussing these with your children as you read the book. We love this book and come back to it often – aimed at children ages 5-8.

Yan’s Hajj by Fawzia Gilani
One of our absolute favourite books for learning about Hajj is Yan’s Hajj! This book brings me to tears every time and my eldest finishes off reading the sentences for me! 😢 Yan’s kindness towards others and selflessness is truly inspiring. Even though he yearned for doing his Hajj, he sacrificed his Hajj money for others, to help others. It’s a must have for every bookshelf and can be read all year round – aimed at childred aged 5-9.
