We unpicked the story as we focussed on it in detail unpicking the setting, characters and the the adventure itself.
This complete unit study with 2 weeks of planning (plus 1 optional week for Adventure Story Writing) comes packed with creative literacy activities you can do easily with your children including painting the setting, finding out more about the animals/insects they encounter in the jungle, lots of reading, discussions and summarising chapters.
The key element of this unit study is to enjoy the reading and story itself, that’s why we are sharing our tried and tested activities which my 9 year old enjoyed doing.
